Manufacturing Month is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. It addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. To match up with Manufacturing Day, which takes place on October 5th this year, the state of Ohio celebrates Manufacturing Month the entire month of October.

Manufacturing matters to Cleveland. Manufacturing is the foundation of the community's current and future economy because it:
- Employs Cleveland residents
- Provides payroll tax to the City of Cleveland
- Creates three jobs in other sectors for every manufacturing job
