Auto Bolt Co., WIRE-Net Member Since 2013
In early May, during National Small Business Week—an annual event that recognizes the significant contributions of American entrepreneurship—Rob Kocian, President of Auto Bolt Co., was honored as The Ohio Small Business Person of the Year. This award included an invitation to the White House to receive the award. The company was further honored locally when they received a proclamation and special recognition from Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson.
Auto Bolt is a manufacturer of cold-headed fasteners, specializing in the production of long-length and mid- to heavy-diameter bolts, pins, and rivets. In 2005, Robert Chapman Kocian purchased the company, which was founded in 1948 in Downtown Cleveland. Under Kocian's leadership the company started to grow and soon ran out of room and needed more people. The company used a SBA 504 loan to purchase a new building and more equipment to help them meet the demand of their sales growth.
Auto Bolt Co. received WIRE-Net's 2013 Mission Builder award for their capital investment of over $2 million, purchasing the former Hangar Cleaner building at 4740 Manufacturing Avenue. A building which had been vacant for more than three years. This expansion increased their facility work space from 65,000 to 100,000 square feet.
Over the last three years the company has increased its sales by 35%. Their 2017 growth is currently at 20-22% and their employment number is 66. They are looking forward to a 3rd expansion.
