Manufacturing Works continues its evolution with the announcement today of a new Executive Director. Ken Patsey will join the organization as its new leader beginning in February.
Ken is a graduate of Kenyon College where he received his undergraduate degree in Economics and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. While working as an economist, Ken attended the Weatherhead School of Management at CWRU, and earned his MBA with an emphasis in banking and finance.
During his career as a financial professional, Ken worked with large institutional investors throughout the U.S., as well as in several European countries. Ken provided investment recommendations based on in-depth research his firms conducted on companies most often in the industrial sector. He has been involved in raising equity capital for hundreds of public and private companies.
Most recently, Ken has been working with small to mid-sized firms in manufacturing, logistics, and business services to help them develop effective digital sales and marketing strategies for growing their business and attracting qualified employees.
From 1996 to 2008, Ken served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Cleveland YMCA. He was Treasurer of the Board from 1998 to 2000 and Chairman of the Board from 2000 to 2002. He continues to promote the mission of the organization which is to advocate for the building of a healthy spirit, mind and body for all in the community.
Ken and his wife Mary grew up in Parma and have been married for over 38 years. They now reside in Rocky River and have three daughters.
Gary Davis, President of Aetna Plastics and chair of Manufacturing Works' Board of Directors, led the search process on behalf of the Board. "We've been discussing this opportunity with Ken since he showed an interest last year upon hearing of John's retirement," Davis noted, "and we watched as he really developed into the role as he learned more about our organization. The hiring process was very thorough and the decision to hire him was unanimous – both on the part of the Personnel Committee and the Board of Directors."
Ken Patsey said that he's been intrigued by Manufacturing Works since engaging with the organization as a supporting member at his prior employer. "Manufacturing Works is moving quickly in several areas," he said, "from rebranding to refocusing on the 2020 VISION Strategic Plan's two key areas of Talent and Technology." Patsey said his primary concern now is getting to know the team, the members, and the stakeholders of Manufacturing Works.
