Earlier this month, over 75 people from 30 manufacturers attended the Accelerate Cleveland Manufacturing Networking Plant Tour at Jergens, Inc. Attendees were welcomed by Jergens, Inc. President, Jack Schron, Jr., and Dollar Bank's Director of Corporate Affairs, Brian Tucker. Afterwards, everyone was treated to a tour of the Jergen's facility where they saw the state-of-the-art plant first hand.15.0320Jergens

On April 27th, Cleveland manufacturers will once again have the opportunity to learn more about Jergen's success, as they present alongside Alfe Heat Treating and Animal Oraletics, how embracing the concept of ideation has helped improve and grow their businesses. MAGNET Senior Growth Advisors, Mike Kaminski and Mike O'Donnell, will be on hand to show audience members the most efficient, effective way to use ideation to improve problems and grow a company's performance and profitability.

  • Alfe Heat Treating is America's largest commercial aluminum heat treater, and a local manufacturer who has used ideation to pioneer the high volume Precision Air Quenching (PAQ) process and reduce heat treating costs for its customers by adding new, efficient technology to its plants.
  • Animal Oraletics is the developer of veterinary devices that fight oral bacteria in dogs. They have used the ideation process to create the Zumby device, a new category veterinary medical devices.
  • Jergens, Inc. is one of the world's largest manufacturers of lifting, work holding, and fastening solutions. They have used the ideation process to adjust product design and simplify product manufacturing—which has led to decreased production costs.

Manufacturers attending this event will be eligible to receive a complimentary two hour lunchtime ideation session at MAGNET.

Accelerate Cleveland Manufacturing

The Cleveland Foundation has funded the Accelerate Cleveland Manufacturing program—which complements WIRE-Net's work on the Advance Northeast Ohio initiative—to identify roadblocks to economic growth, one core city factory at a time. The program builds on the strengths of both organizations to create affordable solutions for Cleveland companies.
